Cricket (Tactics) Darts Game

An excellent game which goes under numerous names (in many areas it is called Tactics). The bull can stand for bullseye or it can stand for 25 (the outer bull). In this second instance, if you hit a bul it counts as two 25s.
Both players or teams have three marks against each number. To score on any numberyou have to hit three of it (one treble, a double and a single or three singles). Then, and only then, can you start scoring on that number (generally only numbers 20-15 are used). But if your opponent hits three of a number before you do, all you can do is eliminate it. For instance, if he is scoring on 20 he continues until you hit three of them.
It is not difficult to see why the game is called Tactics. Your opponent is scoring on 19sm you are scoring on 17s and 15s. Who wil be the first to break ranks and eliminate the other's numbers, or suddenly switch to 18s, or the bull? When a player has sufficient lead in points scored, he will try and eliminate his opponent's reminaing options. Obviously, there comes a point when one player has lost - i.e. he is behind and he cannot score. |
