For this game, write down a series of targets. If you hit them score what you score. If you miss with all three darts, you halve your score and if you miss three times in a row you are eliminated.

Let us take a possible sequence: 11, 12, double, 13, 14, outer ring, 15, 16, treble, 17, 18, inner ring, 19, 20, bull or 25 ring. The outer ring means all three darts must land in the area between the double and treble bands; the inner ring means all three darts must land in the area between the treble band and the 25 ring. Therefore, if you hit a double or treble while throwing for the outer or inner ring, you halve your score. If you hit a treble or the bull or 25 going for the inner ring, you also have to halve it. It is amazing how many players fail to get three darts in the outer ring.
