How old were you when you first picked up a dart?

I was keen on the game since I was a toddler. First played under supervision around the age of about 6 years old. |

Nicknames are a big feature of a dart player so how did you get yours?
Jamie Caven
Jabba, because I am diabetic. It's something that has just stuck and if I changed it I wouldn't be me.

How many hours do you practise throwing a day?
Jamie Caven
I practise between 2 and 5 hours a day. Depending on how form is and what part of my game needs working on.

What is your favourite venue and why?
Jamie Caven
It has to be Alexandra Palace, you will know why if you have been and if you haven't been there - you really need to go!

Anybody human gets nervous before they play so how do you combat the nerves?
Jamie Caven
Make sure everything with my form is ready - turn the nerves into adrenaline. have a quick stiff drink and then lets get it on!

Who is your favourite player, past or current?
Jamie Caven
Eric Bristow was my idol as a child. I don't really focus that much on anybody else now.

What is a typical day in the life of you?
Jamie Caven
Up reasonably early, breakfast, practise a couple of hours, go for a walk or go to the shops - have some lunch practise in the afternoon, watch TV or go out in the evening. Thats just based on a normal day with no plans or anything in the diary.

Winning the world Youth Championship in 1993.

Your worst darting memory?
Jamie Caven
Missing out on qualifying for the 2008 Grand Slam of Darts when I had thought I had done enough to get in.
